Fulbright Nehru Distinguished Chair Fellowship 2017 is a 4-month fellowship designed for full time professors to teach graduate students at the host institution. Only PhD degree holders can apply for the same. They fellows would be awarded USD 5000 per month. Candidates must apply by 1st August 2017
Fulbright- Nehru Distinguished Chair Fellowship 2017 is a 4 month fellowship designed for full time professors to teach graduate students at the host institution, travel to prominent higher education institutions to give guest lectures and take part in symposia and conferences. Distinguished Chairs also work with faculty members at the host institution on program development and curriculum design. Proposals should demonstrate an interest in active collaboration with Indian scholars and the host community.
Grants may begin any time after July 1, 2018. Grants must begin by March 31, 2019.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATION INFORMATION
Applicants for this award should hold the rank of full professor. The Distinguished Chair award is designed for eminent scholars with substantial experience and publications in their respective fields.
Applicants without significant experience in India are encouraged to apply, as are India specialists who can further their knowledge and understanding of India in the United States. Scholars who can contribute new methods of pedagogy, specifically interactive methods, group work and project-based learning are welcomed. Scholars may be placed at institutions with varying academic/administrative arrangements; undergraduate colleges often make optimum use of visiting scholars.
Applicants must clearly state in their proposals whether they will need to visit excavation sites. Selected candidates in this field will be required to fill out a form that USIEF will submit to the government of India for obtaining special clearance from the Archaeological Survey of India.
Applicants should clearly state in their proposals whether they will need to consult records and/or papers in the National Archives, New Delhi or in state archives. USIEF will obtain the necessary letter from the U.S. Embassy, which will be required for a scholar’s entry into the archives.
